Technology: Automatic trash removal equipment  (AGCE) at intake of high capacity pumping stations.

Origin:

- From the results of ministerial-level S&T research in 2000 "Researching, designing and manufacturing automatic trash removal equipment at water intake of pumping stations and irrigation works.

- Refer to similar equipment, technology and features of Japan and China.

Research process

- In 1999 MARD assigned MARD tasks: In order to research, propose and select solutions on principles and equipment structure.

- In 2000 based on the initial proposed results, the Ministry allowed to design and manufacture the first test application of 04 sets of automatic trash removal equipment based on the principle of chain drive, continuous circulation and fixed installation for Thong Nhat - Tien Hai - Thai Binh pumping station. The test results were highly appreciated by the Science and Technology Council of the Ministry and the Ministry allowed to apply in Irrigation works (2001).

- The process of technological completement and technological improvement has been gradually carried out, with the Ministry's permission to apply it at Van Thai A and Vinh Tri II pumping stations.

- Because the above devices and similar devices of other countries are devices that are fixed on the wall of the Pin Pillar, the installation, repair and maintenance of equipment as well as the corrosion protection face many difficulties, due to have to thoroughly suck the suction tank, the structure must have a groove structure ,and equipment frequently immersed in water. So the topic has continued to study lifting solutions to overcome the above disadvantages.

- Together with the state-run independent production project (DADL 05). ATR (automatic trash removal) technology equipment capable of lifting and lowering has been perfected in design technology, manufacturing and products have been applied in many works, with outstanding advantages compared with similar euipments in other countries.

Principle of operation:

The system of chain trash removal equipment  is a garbage collection device  according to the circular principle of figure ii.1. Including rake, roller chain moving on fixed guide rail. The system is placed on a Pin pillar, in front of the suction tank door submerged in water created with a horizontal plane 75 degree or placed vertically with the suction tank surface. On the floor is a motor system - gearbox and horizontal garbage conveyor. Horizontal conveyor includes rollers, rubber trough to transport garbage to the gathering place. With the principle of the fixed chain system operation has been applied in countries like Japan and China and has been mass produced. In Vietnam, the fixed chain system type has been manufactured and installed at pumping stations such as Vinh Tri - Ha Nam, Thong Nhat - Thai Binh, Van Thai A - Bac Ninh ...

The trash removal equipment is a kind capable device of lifting and lowering in principle of operation is exactly the same as the working principle of automatic trash removal equipment of fixed  type. In terms of the structure of the device, the type of automatic lifting device with lifting and lowering capability has a number of details that are designed to be different from the fixed type of automatic trash removal equipment  to enhance the stability and ensure function of a number of detail and Cluster of operational details of the device.

Finishing process

- From the results of the research and the initial application results at Thong Nhat - Tien Hai - Thai Binh pumping station. The authors of the project constantly improve the issues of design, manufacturing technology, using materials for each project: From Thong Nhat pumping station (Tien Hai - Thai Binh) to Van Thai pumping station. A (Luong Tai - Bac Ninh) Vinh Tri II pumping station (Ha Nam) etc. has basically completed the fixed type of trash removal equipment (VRX - 01). After that, ATR technology which has the ability to lift and lower has been studied and completed through a series of works: Van Thai pumping station (Cam Giang - Hai Duong), Trieu Duong B pumping station (Tien Lu - Hung Yen), pumping station. Do Neo (Tu Ky - Hai Duong), Van Dinh pumping station (Ung Hoa - Hanoi), Van An pumping station (Bac Ninh) and Kinh Thanh II pumping station (Thanh Liem - Ha Nam)

Fields of application

1- Pumping stations in Irrigation field: (Irrigation and drainage pumping stations);

2- Drains, intake gates, irrigation works, hydropower project, etc.

3- Water supply pumping stations;

4. Pumping stations, drainage facilities for urban areas;

5- The reservoir.

Advantages

- The device has a simple working principle but high automation ability and reliability;

- Completing domestic manufacture with price  30% approximately of similar imported equipment;

- Automatic trash removal equipment , Lifting type (VRX - 02) is the device has superior features than imported equipment;

+ Due to the ability to lift and lower, so when installing, repairing is very convenient without installing a slot door, draining the suction tank, the structure of a hydraulic project does not need to extend the pin to make the slot, no need equipment to lift and lower the slot door  so the construction costs  should reduce significantly;

+ Due to the ability of lifting and lowering, maintenance of equipment is convenient and easy, equipment is highly resistant to corrosion (Because it is not often immersed in water);

+ Due to the ability of lifting and constructing, the construction of a hydraulic project may not need to throughly suck the suction tank, the structure of the hydraulic work may be arranged on the pile floor, capable of reducing the number of equipment groups for the works. (Fixed type of trash removal device - each pump usually installs a set of equipment),  Lift-lower capable type of garbage collection equipment - multiple pumps arranged only  1 unit such as: Van Dinh pump station with 28 pumps - arranging 8 unit trash removers.

Other information

From the actual situation of garbage in front of the intake gates for pumping stations and irrigation and hydropower  works,  from the need to removal  garbage to minimize water column losses in front of pumping stations, increase the service life of pumps and improve the performance of irrigation works in general, replace manual labor with high automatical machinery, In 1999, the author came up with the idea of researching, designing, manufacturing and installing the chain automatic trash removal system to meet practical needs as well as step by step perfecting the industrialization and modernization process agriculture and rural areas. Since then, the project has received many awards and has been widely applied in the field of irrigation in the country.
